Abstract
The article defines the stages of development of social pedagogy in Ukraine (empirical, theoretical and normative, scientific and methodological) as a branch of pedagogy, social and pedagogical practice, discipline and profession from the late ХХth century to the present day. The list of their characteristics and doctoral theses, which are a great contribution to the development of theoretical and methodological foundations of social pedagogy in Ukraine are presented
