Abstract

The article describes the necessity of individual approach in teaching of a foreign (English) language of students of non-linguistic pedagogical specialties, because learning a foreign language requires an individual approach to a greater extent than teaching other subjects, because when teaching a foreign language, not only the process of mastering is individual, but also the object of learning – communication of the individual as a means to express their thoughts in a foreign language. It is determined how an individual approach can help to develop students' creative abilities, to develop their motivation, and interest in learning a foreign language. The importance of learning foreign languages in modern living conditions is emphasized. The task of higher pedagogical education to form professional speaking among students of higher pedagogical educational establishments is determined so that they are able to use a foreign language in their future professional pedagogical activity. The use of the situational method of training is justified. The definition of a communicative situation the factors of a communicative situation are given in the article. The teacher’s tasks aimed at stimulating the cognitive activity of students are determined. Various kinds of situational exercises are presented to obtain a positive result in students’ teaching of a foreign language, emphasizing the need to select such situational exercises for different types of speech activities so that all students have the opportunity to be engaged in discussions, regardless of their level of foreign language proficiency, especially such situations that are related to their future professional pedagogical activity. The importance of working in educational pairs, or in small groups is determined. The tasks are selected according to the degree of complexity and correspond to the level of knowledge and intellectual capabilities of students, which activates their intellectual and cognitive activity.
