Abstract

The article deals with the problem of the influence of factors on the interpretation of colors in the culture of China and Ukraine. The main scientific views on the interpretation of the phenomenon of color are characterized. Based on the approaches of scientists, the essence and features of color as a scientific phenomenon are determined. Researchers characterize color as the main category of culture, it presupposes knowledge about the historical development of a nation, people, peculiarities of interaction between ethnic groups, their traditions, features of the artistic vision of the world. The basic principles of color classification (perception of the universe, hierarchy, historical development, environment) have been determined. The results of scientists' research on the interpretation of flowers in different cultures are presented, the emphasis was placed on the interpretation of flowers in the culture of China and Ukraine, a comparative analysis was carried out. It has been established that in Ukraine, black is perceived as mourning, white is associated with life, purity; in China, white symbolizes mourning, black - fertility. It is substantiated that the blue color in the Slavic communities symbolizes nobility, purity, loyalty; in the eastern space, blue is replaced by green, which symbolizes the birth of a new life, spring; red in eastern symbolism personifies the riot of life in all its manifestations, fire, the desire to reach the top, a cheerful atmosphere; in Slavic culture, red reflects love, energy and danger; among the Slavs, yellow is perceived as the color of wealth, success, prosperity; for the eastern nation, yellow is interpreted as the center of the world, an element of the earth that has the properties of fertility and transformation. Based on the research of scientists, the main factors of interpretation of colors in the culture of China and Ukraine were identified and characterized, among them: anthropological, psychological, gender, functional, comparative, historical, geographical, linguocultural factors.
