Abstract

In the article the need for ensemble training of vocal students in the classical university is substantiated. The scientific-and-methodological and practical experience in this field is analyzed. The substance of the educational student vocal ensemble, its attributes, principles of activity and functions in socio-cultural and pedagogical aspects are investigated and scientifically substantiated. The main characteristics of the educational student vocal ensemble at the organizational, activity-based and educational levels are formulated. The vocal ensemble is characterized as: 1) a creative laboratory and one of the organizational forms of teaching vocal students at the university; b) social and pedagogical system which performs certain functions marked by specific forms of organization and principles of activity; c) a concert collective whose activity is aimed at the creative development of vocal students. The tasks of the vocal ensemble at the university are defined as following: 1) development of creative abilities and individual vocal skills of students 2) mastering the technology of ensemble singing; 3) gaining experience of practical work with vocal ensembles; 4) developing professional communication skills in a creative team; 5) mastering the specificity of ensemble performance, developing the skills of concert and performing activities. The main tasks and directions of work with educational student vocal ensembles in specialized elementary art establishments are outlined. The specifics and tasks of working with children's amateur vocal groups are described. The value of the professional competence of a teacher of ensemble class is argued. The content of work of a vocal ensemble teacher at a higher arts educational institution is analyzed. The conclusions are formulated as follows: 1) educational vocal ensemble is an important component of student professional training majoring in vocal art at the university education system; 2) professional development of vocal students in an ensemble class should be carried out on a scientific basis taking into account the level of development of art education and vocal pedagogy, the specificity of ensemble performance and musical and creative activity, and according to the professional requirements for artists and leaders of vocal ensembles.
