The article considers and analyzes a number of significant and remarkable creative endeavours of Valentyna Trehubova, the outstanding master of porcelain, the Honored Artist of the USSR, the Laureate of Taras Shevchenko State Prize, the leading artist of the Korosten Porcelain Factory dedicated to the drama-extravaganza «Forest song» – the work of the Ukrainianclassic literature of Lesia Ukrainka. The article highlights the trends of development of national motives in domestic small sculpture in porcelain – the most popular branches of decorative and applied arts in Ukraine in the second half of the twentieth century. Its qualitative changes associated inseparably with development of porcelain manufacture in our country are traced. It also ascertains the desire of porcelain artists to improve the actual decorative properties of artworks due to exhibition prototypes, replicated in small batches, where the art design was practiced combining unique author’s artworks and industrial copies oriented for sale with thousands of copies manufactured by the state enterprises. For the first time during the Soviet period, porcelain began to be considered not only as a mass-production form of art, but also as a unique individual work of masters on the basis of industrial aesthetics. Beginning from the 1960s, a national school of porcelain small sculpture began to form. Polychrome technique of painting in Valentyna Trehubova’s works organically emphasized the coloristics of Ukrainian traditional painting. Together with her husband Mykola Trehubov, Valentyna Trehubova created an oasis of national motive of the latest porcelain at the Korosten Porcelain Factory, which became an epoch-making phenomenon and an icon of the most nationally meaningful works in small sculpture. Following the imagery of traditional ceramics, the artistic canon of folk pottery, creatively adapted to the needs of exquisite porcelain was professed. Illustrating the literary heritage, the artist creates the modern interpretations of images, where genetic memory does not prevent to make the new laws of design and principles of painting. It should be noted that nothing similar happened in other Soviet republics. Valentyna Trehubova as a sculptor created more than a thousand of sculptures, cups, vases, shtof-bottles and dinner sets throughout her art career. In her heritage there are well-known things, which are easily recognized and perfectly illustrate the life and taste of the Soviet people. There are paradigmatic things that are perceived today as symbols of that time. Simultaneously there are unusual works that are very rare and inaccessible to the mass audience today and that are the best examples of professionalism and fine artistic taste, based on the author’s deep knowledge of material and folk traditions. All the works of the artist are amazingly beautiful and musically plastic. They skillfully combine the classical national tradition and innovative search, historical motives and the spirit of modernity and therefore Trehubova’s artworks are called a porcelain symphony. At the 40th session of the General Conference of UNESCO, a decision was made to include the commemoration of Lesia Ukrainka in the UNESCO Calendar of Memorable Dates for 2020- 2021. The article is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Valentyna Trehubova
