Abstract

The publication is devoted to highlighting a set of substantiated provisions of a systemic nature, which constitute the theoretical foundation for the development of the creative potential of students in the process of distance education. It is proved that the concept of a person's creative potential has been considered in inseparable unity with the concept of creativity since the time of Ancient Greece. Philosophical concepts of creativity have historically changed and developed, but all philosophers share the idea that a person's ability to create new, original, directly depends on its creative potential. In modern philosophy, creativity is considered as a complex personality trait, which testifies to the extent of her ability to relate to her own activity as a creative process, and this makes it possible to formulate and solve new tasks, to obtain an original result. In psychology, creative potential is revealed mainly from two positions: on the one hand, as a part of creativity in its relationship with the psychological process of creative activity (motivation, analysis of a problematic, unusual situation for the subject, definition of a goal, foreseeing a result and ways to achieve it), and on the other - as a set of personality traits that are not yet relevant, but they are necessary for the implementation of a creative intention. Psychologists consider creative potential in the context of mental processes, states, human qualities, his cognitive sphere, ideas, feelings, emotions and other characteristics. The main provisions in the field of education are highlighted, which constitute the legislative and organizational foundation for ensuring the development of the creative potential of students in the process of distance education. The content of the key definitions of the problem under study has been clarified (the creative potential of the individual, distance education, "information and communication technologies", "information and communication technologies of distance education", etc.). A concise description of the forms of distance education common in practice, which are based on information and communication technologies, is presented.
