Abstract

The article reveals the importance of emotional intelligence in the personal growth of primary school students in the context of art education. The concept of "emotional intelligence" is specified, its characteristics and structure are given. It involves the separation of components: motivational-value, cognitive-cognitive and creative-reflexive. According to this structure, effective means for the development of emotional intelligence of primary school students in the context of art education in primary school are identified. Exercises, techniques and games for effective development of emotional intelligence of junior schoolchildren in art lessons are offered. Among the exercises we consider the most effective: "Metaphor", "Mask of the favorite hero of the work of art", "Box of colored emotions", "Kandinsky", "Musical graphics", "Pantomime", "Sculpture", "Voices", "Drawing in technique" fluid art", "Body percussion", "Conductor", "Frozen", "Mirror", "Touch", "Empathy", "Musical dialogue", "Artistic notebook of emotions". Among the interactive techniques that we offer to use in practice with younger students in art lessons are: "Mosaic of emotions", "Musical treasure trove of emotions", "Musical puzzle", "Improvisation", "Emotion on the palm", "Blind composer", "Theater mime actors", "Conductor of emotions". The use of games is important in the learning process for younger students during the development of emotional intelligence. In particular, interesting applications are the games "Wall to wall", "Dancegrowth" and relaxation techniques to relieve tension using music, color, muscle and respiratory relaxation, elements of art therapy: "Colors", "Fluid art", "Breathing gymnastics", etc. Also in the article the factors and conditions which influence process of development of emotional intelligence of the schoolchildren at art lessons are outlined. Among the factors, we highlight: a comfortable artistic atmosphere, emotional communication in the educational environment with musical works (participation in concerts, children's music philharmonics, exhibitions), partnerships between participants in lessons, cooperation of students, parents and teachers in creating art projects. We also highlight the conditions for successful development of emotional intelligence of the student, which we see in: practicing work in pairs while creating a picture, or discussing their emotions on the listened work, organizing team project work, using extracurricular activities to form emotional intelligence, playing real and fictional life situations (interviews with the artist), creating a situation of success, practicing reflective writing, when primary school students write to music about what they feel right now, or express emotions through drawings, collage or other creativity.
