Abstract
The article reveals the contribution of domestic teachers and psychologists (P. Blonsky, M. Vinogradov, O. Dedyulin, A. Krasnovsky, S. Nemolodshev, O. Nechaev, A. Obraztsov, L. Orshansky, S. Rusova, V. Rodnikov, M. Rubinstein, J. Fausek) in the actualization of the ideas of the activity approach in preschool education (late XIX – early 20s of XX century). The content of the article is based on the results of the study of contemporary research (monographs, books, scientific publications). The key ideas of the activity approach relevant in the national pedagogy of that time, which took place in the pedagogical thought of different historical periods, were singled out and characterized, namely: the idea of children's natural need for activity and knowledge of the “world of things” in different activities (А. Komensky, J.J. Russo, F. Froebel);the idea of the activity mind given to the child by nature, which constantly needs “serious work” and, accordingly, education (А. Komensky); the idea of the need for self-reproduction as a supplement to children’s understanding of the essence of things (I. Kant, J. Pestalozzi, F. Froebel); the idea of mutual strengthening of mental and physical activity; the idea of education, which is influenced not by words but by action, pattern (J. J. Russo); the idea of the relationship between multilateral interest and multilateral activity (J. Herbart); the idea of dominating children's creativity over the ability to simple perception; the idea of creative self-activity and the child's desire for knowledge in the course of self-activity; the idea of active assimilation of knowledge and realization of the individual's own nature in the process of self-activity(F. Froebel); the idea of creating a changing subject environment that stimulates the mental activity of the child (J.J. Russo, M. Montessori); the idea of self-activity, selfdevelopment and creative self-realization of the child in the “prepared environment” (M. Montessori F. Froebel); the idea of playing as a natural need and a means of satisfying the activity nature of a preschool child, which allows the educator to introduce him into the world of social relations, strengthen its stimulating forces, develop it as an individual (Plato, F. Froebel, S. Hall);the idea of “development of the head, heart and hands” in the process of work (J. Pestalozzi); the idea of activity love (J. Pestalozzi); the idea of “active discipline”, which involves the child’s awareness of the difference between good and evil (M. Montessori). These ideas are relevant today and need further adaptation in the Ukrainian preschool.
