One of the important tasks of the national system of postgraduate education is to solve the problem of improving the language personality of a teacher with developed verbal and linguistic intelligence on the basis of an integrated approach in the process of professional development. The integrated approach allows effectively form the teacher's personality with a welldeveloped speech culture, speech skills and abilities. The article is devoted to the analysis of problems of development of verbal intelligence of teachers. It is proved that the developed verbal intelligence of the formed language personality of the teacher is an effective factor of his successful pedagogical activity. It is substantiated that the developed verbal intelligence allows the teacher to study successfully during life, to achieve significant results in conscious perception and abilities and creativity. The development of the teacher's verbal intelligence contributes to the formation and improvement of his communicative competence, oratory skills, which are necessary for successful pedagogical interaction. The article describes three main components of the teacher's verbal intelligence, which should be improved in the process of postgraduate study: language erudition, language sense and language fullness. The psychological qualities and pedagogical abilities of teachers related to the development of their verbal intelligence are also determined. The article lists the main tasks and conditions for the successful development of verbal intelligence of teachers in postgraduate education. The expediency of diagnosing teachers to determine the level of development of their personal potential in the formation of verbal intelligence is also proved, and the most popular assessment methods are named. In addition, the article presents a specific model of formation of verbal intelligence of the teacher, which is presented in the functions important for the process and results of pedagogical activities, as well as in the relevant blocks of professional training programs.
