Abstract

The discipline of "Foreign language" in a modern institution of higher education is becoming an integral component of training a specialist, especially taking into account the expansion of language communication within the framework of business interaction with foreign specialists, which determines today the active use of interactive technologies and media for didactic support of cognitive interest in the learning process. The use of interactive technologies and media for didactic support of cognitive interest during foreign language learning includes the following educational resource: the possibility of students' cognitive activities taking into account their individual abilities, needs, and interests; ensuring conditions for the formation of students' communicative competence; implementation of the idea of mutual learning, aimed at ensuring the activation of joint activities of students at various stages of the educational session; implementation of ways to develop students creativity and independence based on personal-oriented learning; expanding the framework of the educational process in order to strengthen its practical focus, focused on the intensification of students' independent activities; creation of conditions for the intensification of the process of learning a foreign language at all levels within the limits of the use of multimedia programs; expansion of opportunities for conducting scientific research; division of the content of the discipline into autonomous sections in order to create conditions for students to independently master the relevant abilities and skills in foreign language activities; creation of conditions for the development of skills in the use of rational ways of solving language problems in order to activate the mental activity of students; creation of conditions for the gradual formation of students' skills of independent mastery of the necessary information. The article highlights the issue of teaching foreign languages to students in higher education institutions from different angles.
