Abstract

In the article, the author proves that the concept of "translation of terms" is a compromise between onomasiological and semasiological approaches to term equivalence. Work with terms, terminographic practice and translation practice deal with the same phenomena, implement different approaches to achieving cross-linguistic terminological equivalence and use the concept of "translation of terms" as generic, which means different ways of solving the problem of asymmetry of term systems in different languages
