Abstract

Today, spreading values about peace and building a better society, by educating young people through sports in accordance with the ideas of Olympism, is gaining special relevance. One of the components of the implementation of the specified goal is the training of people who are able to spread the ideas of Olympism among different layers of the population, therefore, the quality organization of the educational process of specialists in the field is of particular importance. The purpose of the research is to identify problematic issues related to the integration of Olympic education into the educational process of student youth and to justify ways to overcome them as a component of improving the educational process. Material and methods: analysis and synthesis of scientific and methodical literature, documentary sources, systematization and generalization, expert survey. 12 specialists took part in the expert survey, including representatives of National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport, Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after I. Boberskyi, Prydniprovska State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports, Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture. The results. According to the expert survey, the significance of the cycles of disciplines in which issues of Olympic education are implemented was determined; the opinion of experts regarding the problems that hinder the implementation of Olympic education in higher education institutions of Ukraine was revealed; defined ways of overcoming the problems of implementing Olympic education issues; revealed personal qualities of the student, the development of which is facilitated by the integration of Olympic education into the educational process. Conclusions. A component of a high-quality educational process is the implementation of Olympic education issues in the educational process of student youth. The most significant problem in the implementation of issues related to Olympic education was determined to be an insufficient number of methodological materials on the implementation of Olympic education, specifically in higher education institutions (60 points). In turn, developing methodical material for the implementation of Olympic education issues within the framework of seminar classes is the most effective way to overcome the problems associated with the implementation of Olympic education in the educational process of a higher education institution of Ukraine (119 points).
