Abstract

The article is devoted to the review of the problem of training competitive specialists in special education to teach children with autism spectrum disorders. The urgency of training a competent specialist in the field of special and inclusive education is due to the specifics of professional activities, current trends in education and objective demands of practice. The article analyzes the concept of motivational readiness of future professionals within the competence approach. The psychological readiness of a future specialist in special education to teach children with autism is a combination of ability to organize and perform pedagogical activities and a number of professionally important personality traits (flexibility, empathy, tolerance, self-regulation, desire for self-improvement, etc.). Theoretical analysis has shown that the structure of psychological readiness of a specialist contains four interrelated components (motivational, cognitive, operational, personal), where the leading one is motivational. The article presents a quantitative, qualitative and satirical analysis of the results of the study of the state of formation of the motivational component of the psychological readiness of future specialists in special education to teach children with autism. Two samples of the study were made by future specialists in special education who studied the disciplines of the sample unit «Psychological and pedagogical assistance to children with autism» or «Inclusive education». The article notes that students in both samples are sufficiently motivated to teach children with autism. In addition, students majoring in «Psychological and pedagogical assistance to children with autism» found a slightly higher state of professional motivation than students majoring in «Inclusive еducation». That is, future specialists in the specialty "Psychological and pedagogical assistance to children with autism" are more willing to work for other people, create something new, take risks, overcome obstacles, solve complex problems, strive for professional self-improvement, as working with children with autism perceived as a personal mission. The article notes that the systematic mastery of future specialists in special education with innovative blocks of elective disciplines ensures the formation of their high motivational readiness to teach children with autism.
