Abstract

At a time of rapid information change, in order to maintain the knowledge and skills of teachers in an up-to-date state, as well as to comply with one of the provisions of sustainable development - lifelong education, specialists in the field must develop professionally. This will make it possible not only to meet professional needs for new information, knowledge and skills, to help teachers to perform their professional duties in a rapidly changing environment, but also to help them be competitive in the labor market. The purpose of this work was to investigate the advantages of using distance education for the professional development of teachers of preschool education institutions, to determine the difficulties faced by specialists in the field in the process of distance education, and to outline the prospects for the development and improvement of this form of education. In the process of research, the authors used a complex of general scientific theoretical and empirical research methods, such as analysis, processing of statistical data, synthesis, survey and generalization. The key advantages of distance education are singled out, including individuality, flexibility, asynchrony, openness and self-organization. It was found that the remote format of education today is characterized by a number of problematic aspects in the implementation process, in particular, we are talking about the insufficient level of technical equipment, the lack of an appropriate competence component of the professional training of teachers and the violation of communication links between the subjects of the educational process. It was found that the vast majority of postgraduate education institutes have courses designed for the professional development of preschool teachers and use both face-to-face and distance education. The likelihood of technological, organizational, and pedagogical difficulties among students of advanced training courses was determined. It was found that most teachers are generally satisfied with this form of education, but not all are ready to implement it in their work. The practical value of the scientific work lies in the generalization of the characteristic features of distance education based on theoretical analysis and questionnaires.
