Abstract

The monograph comprehensively highlights the regional features of the bandur art of Dnipropetrovsk region, the process of professionalization and academicization of its important components: performance and education. Considerable attention is paid to amateur and professional performance on the bandura in solo and ensemble genres, education, training of masters of musical instruments, concert and festival practice of bandura players of the region. On the basis of a detailed study of this phenomenon of national musical culture, the widespread opinion about the unpopularity of bandura art in the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region in the 20th century was refuted.
