Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of forming of optical-spatial representations in children of primary school age with dysgraphia. The article states the essence of optical-spatial representations. A number of difficulties have been identified in teaching children with dysgraphia caused by insufficient formation of optical-spatial representations. The system of diagnostics and formation of optical-spatial representations in children of primary school age with dysgraphia, which consists of five blocks, is proposed: «Visual perception»; «Spatial representations»; «Grapho-motor skills»; «Letter gnosis»; «Visual memory». The author's diagnostic methodology revealed an insufficient level of formation in children of primary school age with dysgraphia visual memory, spatial representations, letter gnosis, grapho-motor skills. A close relationship between these characteristics has been established. The stages of formation of the experimental sample of children with dysgraphia are distinguished: first stage – identifying students who have difficulties in writing during a conversation with the teacher; second stage – analysis of written works of these students in order to identify specific dysgraphic errors. The authors of the article propose a methodology for the formation of optical-spatial representations in in children of primary school age with dysgraphia using means of fine arts in the formation of separate blocks. So, drawing and painting with cereals forms visual perception, teaching volumetric figures from chestnuts forms spatial representations, drawing with paints with cotton buds promotes the development of grapho-motor skills, modeling from plasticine forms letter gnosis, applications from torn colored paper develops visual memory. After applying the formative methodology, a statistically significant increase in the level of formation of grapho-motor skills, spatial representations and visual memory in children. In this way, the article proves the effectiveness of the use of means of fine arts as a method of forming optical-spatial representations in children of primary school age with dysgraphia.
