Abstract
The process of digitization is increasingly penetrating the spheres of human activity in the modern world. The skills of using digital technologies in professional activities are becoming necessary for most specialties. In connection with these circumstances, the development of modern globalization processes is taking place in the world, which are becoming more and more large-scale every day. These processes are the reason for the need to provide society with highly qualified specialists who will have the skills to quickly adapt to all changes and work in conditions of mass digitization. The development of digital competences of Ukrainian higher education students is one of the main tasks of the education sphere, and the ability to navigate in a large flow of information and flexibility of thinking are the main values of a person in the modern world. The rather rapid development of digital technologies in all areas of human activity, from science to production, requires a large number of educated people, their creative potential and a high level of competence in all areas. Digital competence is one of the keys in modern education. The article considered the essence of this competence, its components and spheres, focused on various aspects of the future professional activity of the students of education. Digital competence is defined as a combination of knowledge, skills, ways of thinking, which are characterized by dynamism and which determine a person's ability to successfully conduct professional activities using digital technologies. The identification and selection of digital resources is one of the main components of digital competence. Therefore, the main digital resources and their characteristics were characterized, with which students of education should first of all get acquainted in order to increase the level of digital competence. For the formation of digital competence in students of higher education, teachers should take into account all modern trends and demands of the digital environment, offer the latest tasks for revealing creative potential in the digital environment.
