Abstract
The article is devoted to one of the important problems of education and development of children of the third year of life - the formation of the foundations of research competence in children of the third year of life. The relevance of the investigated problem is determined. The theoretical and methodological foundations of the research problem are outlined. The possibility of its solution on the specified scientific basis is proved. Previously insufficiently researched issues of the problem are highlighted. There is a shortage of scientific theoretical and methodological sources dedicated to the study of the content and features of psychological and pedagogical support for the formation of the foundations of research competence in children of the third year of life, insufficient success in solving the researched problem in the educational practice of modern preschool education institutions. Based on the results of the analysis of the State Standard of Preschool Education (2021) and the educational program «Child» (2020), the essence of the investigated competence of children in the third year of life is determined as a holistic, integrative, complex in terms of personality quality, which is considered as a set of such components - emotional, cognitive, behavioral, which in the study are also determined by the criteria for the development of the investigated quality. Indicators of the specified criteria are outlined: emotional criterion with indicators - interest in the subject and natural environment; the desire to learn about objects, manipulate them, use them in one's own activities; bright emotional manifestations, etc.; cognitive criterion with indicators - elementary knowledge of methods of perceptual examination of objects, manipulation with them, use in one's own activities; objects of the environment, their functional purpose, use in accordance with the purpose; objects and phenomena of nature, etc.; activity criterion with indicators - holistic perception of the subject and natural environment; perceptual examination of objects, manipulation with them, use in one's own activity; being in a familiar and unfamiliar environment; combining objects according to certain characteristics, finding similarities and differences in them, etc. The goal, object, subject, research task, game activity are determined as an important means of forming the researched competence.
