Анотація

The paper provides an overview of Ukrainian media that highlights the problem of using terminology, in particular military terminology and, more broadly, war terminology, as well as military vocabulary in the context of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. The problem of legal regulation of military terminology in Ukrainian legislation in its correlation with international law is partially covered. The volume of military terminology in the "Legislative Terminology" and Thesaurus "Eurovoc" databases on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine1 (as of September 2022) is analyzed.The recommendations of individual media experts and lawyers regarding the use of military terminology, war terminology and military vocabulary in the media and legislative discourses of Ukraine are summarized. Attention is drawn to the peculiarities of the lexicographic fixation of such terminology and the development of the "Dictionary of Correct Terminology for the Coverage of the Russian-Ukrainian War" and the "Terminological Dictionary of the Russian-Ukrainian War". The main contradictions in the development of Ukrainian military terminology in both discourses, caused by Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, are formulated.
