Abstract

The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in literary reading lessons offers numerous advantages for both teachers and students. The article explores the various aspects of its utilizing in literary reading lessons for primary school students. It highlights the benefits of employing digital tools to enhance students' reading activities and discusses the challenges faced by teachers in implementing ICT. To effectively incorporate ICT into literary reading lessons, teachers need to possess the necessary computer skills and familiarity with digital devices. They must also be able to select and apply appropriate resources that align with the lesson's learning objectives. The article emphasizes the importance of teacher preparation in utilizing ICT effectively. Additionally, the article acknowledges that certain psychological and physiological characteristics of students may pose limitations to the use of new tools in the classroom. For example, some students may have vision or concentration issues that need to be taken into account when incorporating information tools in primary school teaching. ICT is portrayed as a powerful tool that can significantly improve the effectiveness of literary reading lessons. It enables teachers to implement diverse didactic tasks, making the educational process more engaging and captivating. Furthermore, it enhances students' motivation to study modern and classic children's literature. The utilization of ICT in literary reading lessons encompasses a wide range of digital tools, including e-books, web resources, interactive exercises and games, multimedia presentations, videos, and other relevant technologies. These tools actively engage students in cognitive activities, fostering the development of reading skills, comprehension, text analysis, critical thinking, and creativity. In conclusion, the article emphasizes that integrating ICT into primary school literary reading lessons can prove highly beneficial. It facilitates student involvement in the learning process, enhances their reading skills and language competence, and ultimately increases their overall motivation to learn
