Abstract
The article is devoted to one of the topical issues of using LEGO construction for sensory and cognitive development of children in the third year of life in the context of innovative care. Based on the study of encyclopedias, dictionaries, reference books, etc., a definitive description of such basic research concepts as: sensory education, sensory development, cognitive activity is presented. Regulatory and legal ocuments, which reflect the issue of education and upbringing of preschool children in general and early childhood, in particular, were identified and analyzed. Given the fact that LEGO construction is one of the means of forming children's sensory-cognitive and research competence, we have carried out and presented the results of psychological and pedagogical research on this issue. Issues of the history of the creation and distribution of the LEGO constructor in the world, the classification of this constructor, manufacturing materials, etc. are outlined. Based on the study, variable partial programs created in recent years in Ukraine are presented, the content of which is the features and sequence of using the LEGO constructor in working with preschool children. A sequence of educational interaction with children on the construction of geometric shapes, which can be used in work with the LEGO constructor, is highlighted: 1) superimposition: on a color scheme, on a contour scheme; 2) teaching by analogy: by an individual sample, by a demonstration sample; 3) teaching by memory; 4) teaching by design. An algorithm of actions for the formation of cognitive interest and curiosity in children is presented: in the first place – joy and surprise, in the second place – interest and only in the third place – curiosity and formulated recommendations for teachers and parents regarding the use of the LEGO constructor for this purpose
