Abstract
The article highlights the problem of distance postgraduate pedagogical education as a means of developing a teacher's professional competence. A thorough analysis of the latest research and publications on the outlined problem was carried out. It was emphasized that the purpose of the conducted research was to find out the features of the distance process of the professional competence development of the teacher in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education. Four levels of students' educational achievements are distinguished: elementary, middle, sufficient, high, and the main monitoring results are analyzed. It is emphasized that the conducted research was based on the main principles of andragogy (the priority of independent learning; the principle of joint activity; the principle of relying on the experience of the learner; individualization of learning; the systematicity of learning; the contextuality of learning; the principle of actualization of learning results; the principle of elective learning; the principle of the development of educational needs ; the principle of awareness of learning) and, to a certain extent, pedagogical synergy (openness, non-linearity, bifurcation, emergence). The proposed methods were based on key aspects of competence, andragogic, synergistic, functional-stylistic and communicative-activity approaches. Based on the verification and analysis of the research results, the criteria were determined that corresponded to the indicators and levels of development of the teacher's language personality from the point of view of the implementation of language educational activities. It was concluded that the generalization of the obtained results confirms the effectiveness and timeliness of the developed methods, but does not fully solve the outlined problematic issues and encourages their improvement in the future.
