Abstract
Edutainment is a groundbreaking technology that merges enjoyable methods and active learning to achieve a successful equilibrium between information and entertainment. Modern technology and multimedia products facilitate the use of Edutainment to impart complex knowledge in an effortless and enjoyable fashion, enabling students to retain it with ease. Edutainment technology combines entertaining techniques and interactive learning methods to promote learning and interaction. This approach combines information, multimedia products, psychological techniques and modern technologies effectively, striking a balance between education and entertainment. Sharon De Vary argues that Edutainment serves as a crucial instrument for effective learning and development as it enables faculty to engage students in the learning processes, making it interesting and relevant. Rob Donovan highlights the potential of Edutainment in communicating complex topics in an entertaining manner, thereby alleviating cognitive load on students. Edutainment technology can be effectively employed across all levels of education, from primary to advanced and adult education. Edutainment has been identified as a means of enhancing student engagement in learning and promoting effective learning outcomes. Ukrainian scholars view Edutainment technology as a contemporary educational resource that integrates didactic, informational, and gaming features to impart knowledge and foster skills development. Furthermore, it has been observed that utilization of entertainment methods and information technologies fulfils inquisitiveness and enhances involvement in the matter at hand, consequentially leading to more productive learning.The article presents the author's view on "Edutainment" as a novel educational technology that utilises technical and pedagogical tools to provide an entertaining learning experience. The aim is to transfer knowledge and foster competencies through active practical activities. The concept is based on the notion of learning through entertainment. Technical term abbreviations will be explained on their first usage, while strong causal connections between statements will ensure a logical structure. The language employed is objective, formal and value-neutral, avoiding colloquialisms and biased language. Adopting a passive tone and impersonal construction further supports this. Consistency in technical terms and the use of precise vocabulary conveys meaning in an informed way. Regular author and institution formatting are maintained and citation conventions are followed. Quotes are marked clearly and filler words are avoided. The article explores the significance of Edutainment technology in the general pedagogical training of higher education students. Implementing game technologies can boost students' interest and motivation, enhance competitiveness and their professional mobility. Furthermore, utilizing such technologies can assist students in developing their communication abilities, while considering their individual preferences and capabilities. The article reports on a survey conducted among candidates at the first (bachelor's) level of higher education. The survey demonstrated the efficacy of Edutainment technology in facilitating the general pedagogical training of higher education candidates.
