Abstract
The article presents the results of a study of the impact of military events on the mental health of displaced children. In the conditions of war, the main issue is survival, and the topic of security becomes central to human mental health due to the threat to vital and existential integrity. As a result of such situations, increased requirements for adaptation capabilities, stress resistance, and behavioral strategies are placed on the individual. The depth of experiences and the destructive impact of war depends on the subjective significance of the traumatic event and on the presence of individual defensiveness of the person. The theoretical analysis of the approaches made it possible to highlight the concept of "psychological safety", which is determined by: adaptation processes; loss of control over the situation and inability to make decisions and act freely; the presence in the life of other people or, conversely, the absence of the loved ones; subjective feeling of one's own mental state. The impact of traumatic factors on the psyche of children and adolescents is due to the high sensitivity and insufficient formation of psychological defense mechanisms, which are aimed at minimizing the consequences of events and preserving the integrity of the child's psyche. The study of their psychological state based on the analysis of drawings is important for understanding the impact of military events on children. The study showed that it is possible to reduce the negative consequences of stressful situations by stimulating defensive relationships, interaction with parents or significant adults. The formed experience of defensive relationships can be used as a support during the provision of psychological assistance and psychological support to the child. Psychological support includes: restoring a sense of security; strengthening and activation of the child's psychological resources; symbolization and integration of war experience into a new life; activation of natural mechanisms of self-renewal, adaptation to a new environment, promotion of creativity.
