Abstract
The main ideas of publishing the analysis of changes and additions to the program of the subject "Foundations of Health" for grades 6-9 were to identify key changes to the programs and determine their prospects for change in the upcoming 2023/2024 academic year. Changes and additions to the "Foundations of Health" program were made in 2022 due to Russian aggression. Most of the changes and additions are aimed at developing competencies that reduce the risks of military action, save lives, and protect health in occupied, liberated, and controlled territories of Ukraine. To this end, 18 to 33 topics and 3 to 8 practical exercises were added to the instructional material. The use of content and comparative analysis, summarization, and systematization made it possible to assess the completeness of coverage of military threats in the added topics. The possibility of developing competencies for prevention and rescue was determined for each class and in the program as a whole. A feature of the program changes is that they relate to the same topics in each of the classes. This is justified and necessary from the point of view that these competencies need to be learned by students of all ages as quickly as possible. This circumstance will require significant reworking of the added changes in 2023 in order to avoid unwarranted repetition and to facilitate a spiral development of knowledge and complexity of material according to age. In addition to theoretical results, the research presented pursues several practical objectives. First of all, it is necessary to identify the content that needs to be added to the integrated course "Health, Safety, and Well-being" for the 5th grade and in the 2023/2024 academic year for the 6th grade topics. Analysis and comparison of additions to the program in each of the classes will enable teachers of the "Foundations of Health" subject to plan the topics and their specifics for grades 6-9. The information presented in the research is also important for teachers of the "Defense of Ukraine" subject, since the topic of defense against military dangers is considered in this subject. The comparative analysis presented may be of interest to authors developing model programs for the integrated course "Health, Safety, and Well-Being" for grades 7, 8, and 9. The research results will be most valuable to teachers of the "Fundamentals of Health" subject and the integrated course "Health, Safety, and Well-Being."
