Abstract

Modern society needs a competent, educated individual who is able to independently obtain, analyze, and use information to solve problems. The development of such a personality is possible under the condition of the introduction of research teaching methods into the educational process. The ideas of research education were expressed by philosophers and teachers of the past and influenced the formation and evolution of the research method of education. Philosophers Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle believed that education should encourage a person to think, search for truth through discussion. Educators of the Renaissance and Enlightenment supported the ideas of active learning and studying nature through observation and research. Vittorino de Feltre, John Locke considered learning as a process of discovering something new, and considered observation and experiment as a way of acquiring knowledge. Jean-Jacques Rousseau believed that the main source of a child's knowledge about the world is his own experience, the teacher's task was to create situations that encourage the child to seek knowledge. The end of the 19th century was marked by reformist approaches to education, the introduction of the ideas of the "theory of free education". In the didactic system of K. Ushinsky, learning is understood as a path from ignorance to knowledge, which is based on the child's desire to satisfy the need for knowledge, which is consistent with the principles of research education. The end of the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century was marked by the active implementation of the ideas of research education into the practice of the school. John Dewey proposed a mechanism for such learning. Maria Montessori, Rudolf Steiner, Celestine Frenet, Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi understood the educational process as independent research and cognitive activity of students in a specially created environment that encourages reflection, discovery, and gaining experience. Modern information and digital technologies have opened up unlimited opportunities for conducting research training, provided fast, high-quality tools for conducting and processing research results.
