Abstract
Abstract: The article examines the peculiarities of the formation of social and civic competence of children of older preschool age by means of musical art. Today, the civic education of children and youth, in the process of which the formation of social and civic competence takes place, is an extremely urgent socio-pedagogical challenge of Ukraine and a promising direction of scientific research, since the active participation of the individual in public life is one of the most important signs of a civilized society, the democratization of political life, a manifestation of the growth of people's civic consciousness, the realization of their civil dignity and rights, which is very relevant in the modern realities of Ukraine. The article points out the great potential of Ukrainian folk art, in particular, folk tales, songs, and proverbs. Attention is paid to the use of musical folklore, which acquaints children with history and folk traditions, increases interest in learning about their native land, fosters love for the Motherland, and helps establish contacts with peers during musical-didactic and moving games. Among the conditions for the success of the formation of social and civic competence of preschoolers, the importance of creating a favorable developmental environment in a preschool education institution and establishing cooperation with children's parents for a comprehensive impact on pupils is indicated. An important condition for the successful formation of children's sociocivic competence is the creation of a developmental play environment in the group and kindergarten, as well as the ability of teachers to organize special classes, socially oriented games, and to apply traditional and innovative methods of educational work with children. Considering the peculiarities of using the means of Ukrainian art in the education of preschoolers, it is worth pointing out the determining influence of music and folk songs on children. The bright, diverse, magical world of sounds fascinates and creates in the child a desire not only to hear, but also to participate in the creation of music. Musical art, due to its own nature of artistic images, which have an extremely wide range of possible interpretations and personal interpretations, most contributes to the mental and creative development of the individual. Music really has a positive effect on the mental development of preschoolers.
