Abstract

The article raises the question of the frequency use of foreign language morphemes in mass media texts. Attention on the factors affecting the functioning of borrowed affixes in the professional texts of modern mass media workers has been focused. A significant array of formations resulting from borrowed bases, prefixes, suffixes, abbreviations, word formation, stem formation has been found in the studied sources. The role of borrowings represented by borrowed lexemes and autochthonous units has been revealed. It has been found that transformational processes contributed to the introduction of application-type abbreviations into the language of the mass media. Borrowed morphemes have been analyzed, stylistic function has been indicated. The need for the active use of foreign language affixes for the nomination of social life phenomena, political processes and changes in economic life has been substantiated, causing the need to use borrowed morphemes for the most natural indication of the process of cancellation, termination or destruction of something. The stylistic capacity and balance of the prefixes de-, de(z)- are noted, and the indicated affixes cause persistent associations of distance and rejection. The frequency use of the jargon "deza" in various genres of mass media, which is formed by truncation of the base, has been noted. The trend of using foreign base words to denote the realities of modern life has been recorded. The individual language practices of journalists have proven the misuse of borrowed affixes and bases, which will further diminish the significance of autochthonous word-formation models and have detrimental effects on the word-formation of media texts due to the destruction of the grammatical structure of the Ukrainian language. The role of the Ukrainian-language mass media in the modeling of derivative innovations that appeared on the basis of borrowed bases in combination with specifically Ukrainian lexemes for a more eloquent transmission of the transformational processes of socio-economic life has been singled out. Active use of juxtapositions, in which the reference word is borrowed, has been noted in the textual resource of mass media. It is indicated that globalization shifts have contributed to the development of tendencies to economize linguistic means, which have foreign letters and sound abbreviations of the English language. The importance of globalization changes, which contributed to the possibility of integration with the world news space, the transformation through the media sphere of productive word-forming affixes, the foundations of extralingual and intralingual factors of influence on the Ukrainian-language media space, has been proven. It has been noted that in modern media texts, borrowed bases become "Ukrainized". The issue that needs to be resolved is the problem of adaptation of lexemes borrowed from the English language to the grammar of the Ukrainian language. Mass media of the outlined period widely use juxtapositions, among which there are many new works presented in the genres of mass media, which gives the author the opportunity to objectively and fully convey information, influence the reader, and form an opinion.
