Abstract

The article is devoted to the presentation of the results of an empirical study of the awareness of future psychologists regarding the ideas of the concept of sustainable social development and guidelines for its implementation in further professional activity. It was established that the majority of interviewed future psychologists have a limited idea of the essence of the sustainable development of society, reducing it to the solution of environmental problems in today's conditions and ignoring the social aspect and the issue of continuity. At the same time, more than half of the respondents try to adhere to the ideas of sustainable development, as they understand these ideas. Future psychologists rightly believe that the war in Ukraine intensified the importance of embodying the values of sustainable development of the national society. However, only about a third of the respondents indicated significant adherence to the ideas of sustainable social development in the environment. It was found that the main obstacles to the implementation of the ideas of sustainable development are considered by the respondents to be a consumerist attitude to natural resources and low environmental awareness and culture of Ukrainian citizens. Therefore, future psychologists consider the popularization of the ideas of interpersonal tolerance and the development of environmental awareness, as well as the activation of moral values and social responsibility of clients, as promising professional tasks. The most obvious aspect of the implementation of the ideas of sustainable development of society in future professional activity is considered by the surveyed psychology students to be the social aspect. At the same time, they somewhat ignore the problem of intergenerational succession. The university environment is a training ground for the formation of values of sustainable development of students. The enrichment of competence and formation of motivational and value readiness of future psychologists for the further implementation of ideas of sustainable development is a priority task of lecturers
