Abstract
The article reveals the essence of the skills of auditory self-control of future vocalists. The ways of developing students' auditory self-control in the process of vocal training in higher education are outlined. It has been determined that the object of auditory self-control of future vocalists is the quality of sound of their musical instrument - the voice, which is characterised by the accuracy of intonation, timbre and dynamic variety, the presence of high and low singing formants, polyphony, mobility, coherence of voice and other features of professional singing. It has been found that in order to develop the skills of auditory self-control of future vocalists, it is important to direct educational activities towards the enrichment and improvement of independent musical thinking, and their vocal and auditory self-control during singing is a key ability that directly affects the enrichment of both vocal and technical, artistic and performing abilities and their corresponding skills. It is emphasised that in the process of vocal training, considerable attention should be paid to the development of correct vocal and performance technique and the formation of a singing culture, to direct educational efforts towards the development of artistic taste, improving the ability of students to hear their voice as if from the side and control it while singing. It has been established that for the effective development of auditory self-control skills, future vocalists need to regularly listen to and analyse recordings of various genres of vocal works performed by leading singers and make audio recordings of their own performance in order to further correlate muscle and vibration sensations with the acoustic perception of the voice during singing and listening to the recording. It has been found that the content, forms, methods and techniques of forming students' auditory self-control skills in the process of vocal-pedagogical, vocal-methodical, vocal-performance training and the pedagogical conditions for their implementation require further research.
