Abstract

The current stage of higher education development in Ukraine is characterized by the rapid implementation of digital technologies, which fundamentally transform traditional pedagogical approaches and the educational process as a whole. The introduction of digital tools into the educational sphere provides new opportunities for the development of unique autonomy and high individualization of learning, but at the same time, it poses many challenges to the participants of the educational process related to the need for quality adaptation to the fast-moving environment.The main goal of this article is to analyze the challenges and opportunities that arise during the integration of digital technologies in higher education in Ukraine. Based on the legal aspects that regulate the use of digital technologies in the educational process, including the legislative framework that determines the main directions of development and quality standards of education in the digital age, an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of digitalization was carried out. It was determined that the main advantages of the integration of digital technologies in higher education are the availability of learning, interactivity, stimulation of activity and creativity of education seekers, and provision of a distance learning process.The article covers the results of recent studies that highlight both positive and negative aspects of digitalization. A fairly high percentage of coverage and use of the Internet in Ukraine allows us to conclude that there is a significant potential for the development of online education. It is important to emphasize that the digitalization process depends not only on the material and technical base but is also related to the psychological and cultural features of the educational process and their impact on pedagogical practice, in particular, the psychological barriers faced by teachers and students, adapting to new learning conditions. In the course of the research, it was determined that the main challenges for participants in the educational process in higher education institutions are unpreparedness for creating and using the online format of didactic materials, the need for additional digital education, and psychological barriers. The conclusions offer recommendations for the effective integration of digital technologies in higher education, emphasizing the need to develop the digital competence of all participants in the educational process and improve the infrastructure to support continuous learning
