Abstract

The purpose of the article is to find out the ethical and socio-cultural challenges of the integration of digital technologies and painting, since the use of innovations, in particular digital ones, in painting not only opens up a limitless scope of new opportunities for artists, but also provokes the formation of a number of problems and challenges, in particular of an ethical and socio-cultural nature. Research methodology. In order to solve the purpose of the research, an interdisciplinary methodology was used, which involves the integration of scientific approaches from art history, information technologies, and media studies. General scientific methods of synthesis, analysis, systematization and generalization are also applied. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the identification and characterization of ethical and sociocultural problems that can be caused by the use of digital technologies in modern painting. Conclusions. The use of digital technologies in painting brings significant changes to the modern artistic landscape, bringing to life wide opportunities, and at the same time raising new socio-cultural and ethical issues, not always of a positive nature. The first block of sociocultural and ethical challenges of the integration of digital technologies and painting can be defined as problems of digital culture: authorship, ownership, originality, licensing, plagiarism, protection of artists' data. Therefore, the principles of integrity, privacy and respect for the author should be followed in digital painting. Before using digital materials, you should carefully study copyright, license terms, and ethical standards to avoid infringing the rights of other authors and conflicts in the future. The second block of challenges is defined as ecological: displacement of interpretation and manipulation, violation of the integrity of an artistic work, loss of artistic value, dematerialization, technological dependence. The use of edited pictorial works may violate not only ethical or legal norms, but also issues of veracity, value, authenticity and integrity of the art. At the same time, digital painting most of all demonstrates and embodies in practice the main idea of creativity - freedom: in such art, everything is possible, because it is truly continuous, open, unfinished.
