Abstract

The materials covered in the article continue the study of the psychophysical state of first-year students in higher education institutions. Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness is a questionnaire with eight subscales that leading experts worldwide use to study interoceptive awareness of different population groups. American scientist, PhD Thomas Hanna, conducted the first studies of somatic interoceptive awareness in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. He found that after a series of somatic classes, participants noted an improvement in their physical and mental state and decreased pain in muscles and joints despite the minimal amplitude of movements. Concentration skills, emotional balance, and self-control are developed thanks to the constant awareness of changes in the body [1,2]. In Ukraine, most people have been under constant stress for the past four years. In our case, understanding the situation and maintaining emotional balance helps reduce stress levels, forms a favorable background, and restores the fact that the primary assessment method is self-perception. All these skills are necessary for all people, including our students - future physical education teachers, coaches, and instructors. Fifty people participated in our study: boys and girls aged 17-19, first-year students of the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University. We previously published data on the following scales: "Noticing," "Not-Distracting," "Not-Worrying," "Attention Regulation," and "Emotional Awareness." So, the following scale is called "Self-Regulation," according to the MAIA-2 version (2022).
