Abstract

With the introduction of modern technologies, new and new opportunities for learning and improving foreign languages appear. Learning a language using artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly popular, the absence of artificial intelligence provides various useful functions in applications and programs. The emergence of artificial intelligence and its most common tool, Chat GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer, Language Model), has become an additional means for learning foreign languages. Just as the development of online education revolutionized the language learning process, the development of AI technology promises a new turning point. This article suggests a possible way to work with chat using the example of a practical lesson in English in a higher education institution for students of the pedagogical specialty «Primary Education». The research method is to determine the role of artificial intelligence in the educational process, namely in learning English in higher educational institutions. The research aims to identify effective pedagogical approaches and teaching tactics that can maximize the educational benefits of artificial intelligence. The study examines the relevance of Chat GPT to academic methods such as communicative language learning, task-based learning, individualization and differentiation, and group work. Using ChatGPT for foreign language teaching is a new unique approach to learning that can help students improve their language and speaking skills. The work's scientific novelty continues in that it analyzes the aspects of digital learning in a practical lesson in a foreign language for the first time. This allows students to critically examine tasks and improve their communicative competence in a foreign language. The study's main hypothesis is that innovative technologies in the educational process are a provision in the context of society's digitalization. However, despite the enormous advantages of digital learning, artificial intelligence cannot completely replace the teacher.
