Abstract

The article examines the role of emotional intelligence (EI) as a key factor in building trust, psychological security, and productive cooperation in remote teams, and also considers practical approaches to its development. The research methodology includes a critical analysis of scientific literature, case studies of international companies (Microsoft, Buffer, GitLab), reports of consulting agencies (McKinsey & Company) and think tanks (Center for Creative Leadership). The results of the study show that the development of emotional intelligence helps to reduce the risks of emotional isolation, increase the level of trust and team cohesion. The article discusses practices that include coaching programs for leaders, online emotional reflection sessions, nonviolent communication (NVC) training, microlearning, and emotional retreats. In particular, the implementation of such programs at Buffer and Microsoft has shown a significant improvement in the psychological safety of employees. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of the corporate environment: the level of emotional maturity of the team, the culture of trust and multicultural features affect the effectiveness of EI practices. The article provides examples of Ukrainian companies (Telmone, IQholding, SoftServe) that actively integrate emotional intelligence practices to increase the productivity of remote teams. For example, Telmone uses trainings to support communication and motivate employees, while IQholding implements regular EI development programs for managers. The findings confirm the importance of EI as a resource for maintaining staff well-being and preventing burnout. The authors suggest prospects for further empirical research on the impact of EI in remote teams in different industries and cultural contexts. In particular, it is recommended to investigate the effectiveness of specific EI practices in multicultural environments and to develop tools for assessing the level of emotional maturity of teams. Thus, the development of emotional intelligence in combination with peacemaking practices can become a key tool for creating teams of trust and high efficiency in the context of digital interaction.
