Abstract

The article attempts to conduct a historical analysis of the influence of political publications of the Pavlo Lazarenko era on the socio-political situation in the state, on the formation of the beliefs of the general public, with the help of party media, namely the UTAR television company and the «Novyi Chas» newspaper. The article also demonstrates how the party press of Ukraine for 90 years created the image of politicians and individual political forces. To compare the processes of media development in Ukraine and some other countries, the modern media history of Switzerland is taken into account. The comparative analysis is carried out in the context of the problems of preventing monopoly ownership of the press by individual businessmen and studying the development of the press business in ancient democracies of the world.
