Abstract

In today's higher education system, the problem of forming and assessing students' professional competencies is becoming particularly relevant. An important tool that allows to solve this problem effectively is the technology of electronic portfolio (e-portfolio). This method not only ensures the systematic accumulation and analysis of students' achievements, but also contributes to the development of their reflective thinking, self-awareness and professional identity. E-portfolios are a multifunctional tool that combines opportunities for self-presentation, competency assessment, and personal development. The special value of this technology is that it allows students not only to record their educational and social achievements, but also to realize the trajectory of their own professional growth, which is critical for their future competitiveness in the labor market. Portfolios as a method of learning and assessment appeared in education in the mid-20th century. Initially, this method was used mainly in art and design schools to showcase students' work. Over time, due to its flexibility and effectiveness, the portfolio became popular in various educational institutions. Today, it is used in many countries as a tool for assessing student achievements and professional development.
