Abstract

The article examines innovative approaches to the linguodidactic processing of linguistic and cultural material when teaching the Ukrainian language to people with hearing loss. The purpose of the article is a comprehensive analysis of theoretical and practical aspects of teaching Ukrainian to people with hearing loss, taking into account the specifics of teaching methods aimed at integrating Ukrainian verbal and sign languages. Methodological recommendations for organizing the educational process are provided, and specific techniques are proposed that enable meeting the educational needs of such individuals and will contribute to improving pedagogical practice. The limited attention given to teaching people with hearing loss is substantiated. The development of creative tasks using multimedia technologies is proposed. It is proven that the success of teaching Ukrainian to people with hearing loss depends on the teacher’s ability to select relevant and interesting visual material, develop effective tasks, considering the level of language proficiency and individual psychological characteristics of people with hearing loss. Modern educational approaches aim to ensure equal access to knowledge for all population groups, including people with hearing loss. However, teaching Ukrainian to such individuals is a multifaceted and complex task that requires consideration of the peculiarities of their perception of information, communication needs, and cultural environment. The insufficient number of adapted methodologies and educational materials complicates the process of teaching Ukrainian to people who were previously educated in the Russian-language system. Favorable conditions for the auditory-speech development of people with hearing loss include creating a rich and diverse “sound environment” and stimulating the active use of verbal speech. The educational goal at each stage should be clearly defined but can be changed at any time if necessary to adapt to the needs of a specific person. The teacher’s focus should always be on an individualized strategic goal and a method for maximum involvement of students in the educational process. It is important to apply teaching technologies that allow collaboration and understanding of material in Ukrainian sign language, as well as provide a favorable sound-speech environment for optimal perception, understanding, and production of verbal speech for all people with hearing loss.
