Abstract

The article is devoted to music management, in particularly the role of a manager in the creative development of a modern artist. It is noted that positive changes are currently observed in the field of management. It is proven that it is much easier for an artist who has a professional team, which includes managers with creative and analytical abilities, to realize their potential. The difference between the Ukrainian concept of “manager” and the foreign one is analyzed. The figures of famous managers, their functional responsibilities and experience in working with artists are highlighted. The types of music managers are named, including artist manager, producer, concert manager, music promoter, agent, label manager, copyright manager, marketing manager, it is indicated that these specializations can be combined. Information about the Gromus artist promotion service is highlighted. Its main functions, additional features and advantages are indicated. It is noted that music management in the modern world combines management skills, technological innovations and a strategic approach to the promotion of artists. Given the rapid changes in the industry, managers must be flexible, adaptive and skilled in using new technologies to ensure the successful development of their wards. A modern manager in show business must have professional knowledge in the fields of art, economics and law, as well as high general culture. He must act as a worthy mediator in the relationship between the artist and the audience, which should elevate the audience and inspire the artist. The examples of the work of the managers mentioned in the article demonstrate how specialists in this field can become an integral part of the success of bands, participating in important decisions and shaping their image. And the manager must not only coordinate the artist’s work but also act as his confidant and friend, because the artist may face various emotional challenges. It is noted that from the idea to its implementation, a musical project goes through many “tests”, and the importance of management in the field of show business cannot be overestimated. Not only the artist’s career depends on effective management, but also the general level of development of musical culture. The interaction between the manager and the artist is the basis of success, and in Ukraine, as well as abroad, this profession continues to evolve, adapting to new challenges and trends.
