Abstract
Stephen King is known for combining elements of horror genre with a mix of psychological depth, recognizable characters, and compelling supernatural elements. King’s writing style integrates complex narrative structures with language that reflects terror and also explores the human psyche and social issues. Moreover, his ability to incorporate elements of suspense, horror, and the supernatural alongside authentic portrayals of everyday struggles while drawing on the Gothic tradition. The author creates emotional situations and tension in his novels. Stephen King uses different verbal means to transfer information, which appeal to the readers’ conscious and evoke emotions based on sensory experience. His literary output is distinguished by specific stylistic and thematic features. Its intertextual relation to other genres distinguishes King’s style. This feature makes King’s creative work popular among the readers all over the world. The majority of his books become bestsellers and their total circulation is over 100 million copies. Despite the popularity, literary critics still discuss the evaluation of Stephen King’s creative work. Some of them consider him the leading representative of horror literature, others criticize for his guidance to accept mass culture and sensation. There are different resources dedicated to Stephen King and his creative work but most of them contain informational aspect.
