Abstract
The article scientifically substantiates the importance of orchestral and ensemble performance in the professional training of instrumental students at a classical university. The article analyzes art historical, scientific and pedagogical works of domestic and foreign scholars and artists. The specifics of collective musical creativity in educational student orchestras and ensembles are determined. The orchestral and ensemble performance are characterized as types of collective musical creativity based on: technical skills and ensemble skills of the members of the instrumental group; professional competence and organizational capacity of the conductor; creative cooperation of the leader and the group in a highly artistic and technically perfect performance of a musical work. It is stated that classes in orchestral and ensemble disciplines are professionally oriented and are based on collective creativity skills that cannot be formed in individual classes in the specialty. It is argued that the professional training of university students by means of orchestral and ensemble performance provides: performance development and improvement of ensemble skills in active educational and concert activities; formation of creative communication skills in the process of joint music making; mastering the methods of working with a musical and instrumental group; formation and development of professional and personal qualities and abilities; gaining experience in musical and stage activities. The interconnection and interdependence of educational and professional, musical-creative and organizational, individual and collective, rational and spontaneous in the practice of orchestral and ensemble performance is proved. The methods (analytical, illustrative, musical and auditory, improvisational) and factors of effectiveness of students' professional training in educational orchestras and ensembles are determined. The professional competencies of the head of the educational musical-instrumental group, the presence of which ensures the successful formation of students' skills in orchestral and ensemble performance, are outlined.
