Abstract

Analysis of regulatory documents and modern research on promoting the integration of internally displaced persons into host communities allowed us to identify the types of integration of internally displaced persons (economic, legal, psychological, socio-cultural, educational) and reveal their key aspects. The experience of non-governmental organizations in promoting the integration of internally displaced persons into host communities was analyzed (using the example of the Khmilnytsia district public organization "Pravo", the charitable organization "Charitable Fund "Recovery of Ukraine", the public organization "Source of Support") and the coverage of the identified types of integration was established. The purpose of the article is to study the features of the process of integration of internally displaced persons into host communities. Results. It has been determined that the integration of internally displaced persons into host communities will be successful under the following conditions: establishing an information and communication component between all stakeholders and the formation of the principles of tolerance; overcoming socio-cultural conflicts between internally displaced persons and members of host communities; involving internally displaced persons in decision-making in host communities (participation in advisory and consultative bodies on issues of internally displaced persons); providing psychological support to internally displaced persons; providing free legal assistance and/or social services of representing interests; creating jobs for internally displaced persons and supporting social entrepreneurship; organizing programs for improving skills and/or retraining of internally displaced persons; creating equal access to education and opportunities for recreation; establishing team interaction through joint volunteer activities; developing social cohesion of the community; including internally displaced persons with children in the social and educational environment of host communities; self-organization of life activities.
