Abstract
The scientific work is devoted to the study of elements of situational methodology in the system of professional training of future teachers of the Ukrainian language, in particular, the formation of their methodological competence.The analysis of the source base on the topic of the study confirmed the sought-after nature of the situational methodology in the history of the Ukrainian scientific and pedagogical field. In accordance with the goal, the author logically substantiates the basic concepts of the specified type of methodology, as well as the role, place and conditions for involving its elements in classes on the discipline «Methodology of teaching the Ukrainian language». Situational methodology for the formation of methodological competence of a future teacher of the Ukrainian language is a separate area of theoretical research and practical results that lead to the integration of situational, competency�based, and professionally oriented approaches.Principles, methods, techniques, means, forms as elements of a methodological system that are subordinate to the situational approach and used in a specific educational situation are called by the author elements of situational methodology (situational methodological system), for example: the principle of situationality, situational method, situational exercise, situational task.The situational principle is a starting point that regulates the use of elements of situational methodology in classes and contributes to the formation of methodological competence of a future teacher of the Ukrainian language.Theoretical provisions are illustrated by specific examples of situational exercises tested in lectures, practical, and laboratory classes at a higher education institution. The researcher is convinced of the effectiveness of their systematic and consistent use. The subject of interest of the scientist in the future is the theoretical substantiation and development of a test control system based on the situational methodology
