Abstract
The study is devoted to the problem of theoretical substantiation and ways of forming methodological competence of a teacher of the Ukrainian language, in particular on the basis of the situational principle. Samples of situational tasks used in classes on the discipline "Methodology of Teaching the Ukrainian Language" are given.
