Abstract
The article deals with the conceptual aspects of the value paradigms of the formative direction, which are preserved in the folk cultural heritage. The article highlights the integration processes of folk traditions and customs into the modern educational space with the involvement of axiological potential in the practical component of the educational process. Attention is focused on the search for new methodological approaches based on national principles to improve the professional education of choreographers. It is shown that Ukrainian folk dance plays a significant role in forming national consciousness with its moral and aesthetic values. It is argued that Ukrainian folk dance is an important tool for the axiological education of students in higher education institutions. Folk culture is a source of spirituality that transmits historical experience through the prism of choreographic art. The value potential of folk choreography, which should become the foundation of basic training of specialists in art education, is noted. The key directions of the educational process aimed at understanding the concept of “national identity” using folk choreographic art are emphasised. Attention is drawn to the main guidelines of education aimed at developing aesthetic thinking in students and determining the general line of behaviour to achieve the ideal. Important aspects of the spiritual power of the individual, which can solve complex problems and change the overall level of intellectual, moral and aesthetic development, are indicated. It is proved that the axiological principles of the educational process are inextricably linked to the spiritual content, which forms the convention of moral achievements. Important aspects of forming Ukrainian pedagogical education principles based on ancient Cossack traditions are noted. The Cossack education aimed to combine spiritual and physical culture, forming a holistic personality with various worldview orientations. The article highlights the process of forming values in students of higher education institutions using dance art – participants of the choreographic collective “Lybid” of the training laboratory of performing skills of the Faculty of Musical Art and Choreography of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University. It is stated that students’ mastery of fundamental knowledge of Ukrainian dance and the development of technical skills and performance skills contribute to the formation of national consciousness and patriotism.
