Abstract

The article summarizes key theoretical approaches to the study of leadership in the context of the challenges of the modern managerial environment. It analyzes the evolution of scientific perspectives—from classical trait theories, behavioral and situational models to contemporary concepts of transformational, emotional, and servant leadership. Special attention is given to the search for integrative approaches that overcome the limitations of fragmented theories and reflect the complex nature of leadership as a multidimensional social phenomenon. The study focuses on the need to combine individual leader traits, organizational context, value orientations, communication practices, and digital analytics into a single coherent model. Based on the analysis of contemporary theoretical and practical developments, the authors propose an original integrated leadership model called the "4D-Leader," which includes four interconnected components: dynamics (flexible development of leadership qualities), dialogue (empathetic communication and the creation of a partnership environment), data (use of analytics in managerial decision-making), and trust (delegation of responsibility and strengthening team autonomy). The model is designed for new conditions of hybrid work, digital transformation, social instability, and the need for emotionally safe environments. The article emphasizes the practical significance of the proposed model for improving modern managerial practices in the public sector, business, and education. A table of applied recommendations for the step-by-step implementation of the "4D-Leader" model into organizational culture is presented. It is substantiated that the proposed approach helps enhance team interaction, strengthen trust within collectives, and lay the foundation for sustainable, ethical, and innovative leadership. The research findings can be applied in leadership training programs, management system reforms, HR strategy development, and organizational development systems—especially in times of crisis and instability. The article also outlines future research directions, including empirical verification of the model's effectiveness, the development of diagnostic tools, and the exploration of digital and psycho-emotional factors influencing leadership interaction across sectors.
