Abstract
The article is dedicated to examining the issues of narrative analysis of Ukrainian literary fairy tales. As a result of the conducted research, it has been determined that the Ukrainian literary fairy tale is a genre of fiction based on national traditions and the moral values of the Ukrainian people. It reflects the individual creativity of the author who, through stylistic elaboration, imparts a refined literary form to the work and enriches it with scenes of imaginative reflection. Ukrainian literary fairy tales, particularly those written by Borys Hrinchenko, serve as an effective tool for the formation of moral values and national identity. Narrative analysis is presented as a modern interpretive method that develops reasoning and critical thinking skills. The article introduces the deed-based approach developed by V. Romenets, applied to the analysis of Ukrainian literary fairy tales. This approach, formed within the Ukrainian scientific psychological school, is a vivid example of national traditions and humanistic values rooted in the Ukrainian mentality. Within this framework, a structure of narrative analysis is proposed, corresponding to the "Great Logic of the Deed": situation, motivation, action, and post-action. The approaches to narrative analysis of Ukrainian literary fairy tales are systematized across three key dimensions: historical-cultural, structural-linguistic, and semantic-behavioral. A practical methodological tool is offered for specialists (educators, psychologists, teachers, and instructors), namely, an algorithm for the narrative analysis of Borys Hrinchenko’s literary fairy tales. This algorithm includes three stages (preparation, implementation, and completion) and is implemented within a safe educational environment. The article presents examples of the application of specific narrative structures to the interpretation of selected fairy tales by Borys Hrinchenko. The choice of a particular structure for narrative analysis depends on the content and internal structure of each individual tale. The proposed theoretical and applied foundations for the narrative analysis of Ukrainian literary fairy tales form a coherent system of methodological recommendations. These can be useful for professionals working with children, adolescents, and university students, serving as a relevant tool for fostering critical thinking, instilling moral values, and shaping national self-awareness.
