Abstract

The proposed article is devoted to highlighting the historical origin of Indo-European syntax in terms of grammatical features of ProtoIndo-European languages (Proto-Germanic, Proto-Indo-Iranian, Proto-Italian, Proto-Greek, Vedic Sanskrit, Early Latin) and ancient Germanic languages (Old English, Old High German, Gothic, Old Saxon, Old Norse, Old Frisian) in comparison.
