Abstract
The article is devoted to the creativity of Svetlana Vladyslavivna Golembovska, an outstanding artist of Ukraine in the field of artistic silicates of the second half of the 20th century. The artist came to her first place of work after completing the ceramics department under the leadership of Mykhailo Zhuk and Susanna Sarapova at the Odessa Art School in 1951. Having a high culture of understanding the material of porcelain (taking into account the personalities of her mentors), she joined the creative team of the Kyiv Experimental Ceramic and Art Plant. At that time, it was a leading enterprise in the field of fine ceramics in Ukraine, which served as a creative laboratory where high-quality models were designed for all domestic porcelain and faience enterprises. Relying on the achievements of the first galaxy of masters of this production, former Mezhyhirya residents Panteleimon Musienko, Mykola Kotenko, Konon Kryvych, Pavlo Ivanchenko and Ilko Zaika, the artist joined the second generation of luminaries of the factory. Together with OAS students Volodymyr Sorokin, Lydia Pakhareva (Mityaeva), Yaroslava Kozlova, Vladislav Shcherbyna, Oksana Zhnykrup, she initiated a new era of porcelain plastic and tableware in Ukraine. This process embodied, on the one hand, the echoes of the culture of shaping fine ceramics of the first municipal faience and porcelain factory in Mezhyhirya, the knowledge of local masters about sculpture and dolls as such, given the development of the unique avant-garde theater «Mezhyhirya Nativity Scene» in the specified center. On the other hand, an understanding of the continuity of the traditions of Ukrainian decorative art, which was instilled in students of the OAS, starting with Amvrosy Zhdakha, who developed the first such program, as well as an awareness of the essence of stylization, a discipline unique to the domestic territories, initiated by Mykhailo Zhuk at the OAS and continued by Susanna Sarapova. After the experience of designing sculpture and painting it at the KECAF, Svitlana Golembovska in 1964. moved to work at the Kyiv Art Glass Factory, where she achieved significant success in developing original ensembles on the theme of her native nature, which consisted of separate decorative parts and demonstrated her unique author’s style.
