Abstract

The chinoiserie style is studied as an artistic phenomenon formed under the influence of the cultural traditions of the Far East in the European space of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. This allowed us to consider the distinctive features of the chinoiserie style in painting, architecture, decorative and applied arts, and porcelain in Europe, particularly in Ukraine. Attention is drawn to the insufficient development of this topic in Ukrainian art history, and prospects for further research of the chinoiserie phenomenon as an element of intercultural interaction are proposed.
